This website is dedicated to first-generation students and families!
To increase college knowledge, I created various Canva infographics and linked online resources to expand people's curiosity and learning. My upbringing as a first-generation Mexican-American brought many obstacles that interfered with properly preparing for higher education while in the K-12 school system. It wasn't until my time at Los Angeles Valley Community College that I was properly counseled in navigating college and provided with the tools to successfully complete a Bachelor's degree. Without the support of various individuals I would have been just another statistic. My biggest advice when working with students is to ask for help, don't be afraid of failure, and lean into growth opportunities.
